CU to host the Rev. Kenny Rager at chapel Jan. 29

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— The Rev. Kenny Rager, pastor of Life Community Church in Calhoun, Ky., will be the guest speaker at chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., on the main campus of Campbellsville University. Everyone is welcome to attend free of charge.

Life Community Church is a church plant of Buck Creek Baptist Church in Calhoun. LCC received the Kentucky Baptist Convention High Impact Grant for church plants and is considered a BKC High Impact Church. The church was planted in March 2012.

Rager attended Campbellsville University where he met his wife, Taran Elise Smith, who serves as worship leader at the church. Rager graduated with a bachelor’s degree in educational ministry from CU in 2005, and Mrs. Rager graduated in 2008 with a bachelor of science with an area in worship arts.

Rager received a master of divinity degree from Liberty University in church growth and evangelism in 2011.

Rager is a native of Owensboro and a graduate of Apollo High School. At the age of 13, Rager answered the call to preach and has spoken at many youth camps, churches and revival meetings and has pastored two previous churches – South Greensburg Baptist Church and Living Faith Baptist Church in Hartford, Ky. He enjoys spending time with his family, collecting old comic books and traveling.

Mrs. Rager is a native of Elizabethtown, Ky. She is a singer and musician and leads worship from the piano. She enjoys spending time with her family, couponing and traveling.

The couple has two young daughters, Gracie and Hope Rager.

Rager is a member of the Campbellsville University Church Relations Council. The Church Relations Council is an organization created to provide support for the Christian higher education mission of Campbellsville University. As a pastor and member of the Church Relations Council, Rager strives to keep a close relationship between Campbellsville University and local churches.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.

All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10) and are streamed live on the Internet at www.campbellsville.edu/live-streaming.
