CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dale Reinscheld, an artist from Washington County, will host an exhibit at the Pence-Chowning Art Gallery through Friday, Sept. 13. The gallery, located at 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, is open to the public free of charge.
While making his debut as an artist on canvas, Reinscheld has been an artist of furniture for 30 years. His experience over the years with furniture, learning how to mix colors and woods, helped him make his transition to canvas very smoothly, getting used to a different medium which now is oil. Reinscheld’s talents were shown from a very early age allowing him to be rewarded with several recognitions as a teenager.
Reinscheld, a native of Kentucky, is a Western Kentucky University graduate, in 1984 with a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology and arts. He is self taught in painting and has been self-employed for 23 years.
He has worked with wood grains and marble, produces reverse glass paintings and design and created furniture.
He has a deep love for his hometown and state and admires its beauty and nature, which is reflected in the context of his work.
“Everyday life is full of wonder and beauty and incredible detail,” he said. “It is my goal to convey this to canvas and to then share it with others.”
Reinscheld said he is “intrigued by the light to color relationship in everything I see. The medium I have chosen to portray or convey this relationship is oil. The attributes of oil allow colors to range from intense and bold to subtle and soft; heavily textured and full bodied to thin and transparent which can resemble the quality and appearance of water colors.”
The Pence-Chowning Art Gallery offers monthly guest artists as well as CU student work during the academic year.
