CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Nathan Gower, assistant professor of English at Campbellsville University’s Louisville Education Center, will be part of a crowd-sourced narrative feature film titled “50 Kisses,” scheduled to premiere in London on Valentine’s Day 2013.
The film is a competition starting with 1,870 entries. Screenwriters from around the world were invited to write a two-minute script in any genre with only two stipulations: the script must be set on Valentine's Day and must feature a kiss of some kind. Gower’s script, “Colton’s Big Night,” featured around a 10-year-old boy was selected as one of the top 50 scripts.
From there, filmmakers from around the world are choosing from the scripts to produce a film. The top 50 films (one from each script) are then edited into the world’s first entirely crowd-sourced narrative feature film. “50 Kisses” is produced and directed by British independent filmmaker Chris Jones, who is also creative director of the annual London Screenwriters Festival.
Gower’s script is currently being produced by teams in London, New York, Los Angeles and Louisville.
The theatrical premiere is in London on Valentine’s Day 2013 with future screenings in New York and Los Angeles. DVD distribution will follow.
