CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University will once again participate in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Collection week for the filled boxes, which go out to children in need, is from Nov. 18 to Nov. 25 at Taylor County Relay Center located at 307 North Court St., Campbellsville, or School of Theology on CU’s Campus.

Operation Christmas Child brings hope and joy to children in difficult situations worldwide through gift-filled shoeboxes and God’s word and love.

Since 1993, more than 100 million shoeboxes have been packed, shipped and delivered in over 130 countries. This year Samaritan’s Purse’s set goal is to send out 9.8 million shoeboxes to children in need.

Everybody can be involved in this simple project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ.
The Samaritan’s Purse not only calls people to put a smile on the children’s face they also ask to join them in prayer during the preparations. You can sign up for prayers on their homepage.

People across the country and nine other countries have been filling shoeboxes with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items and other meaningful gifts.

To get a shoebox see Sherry Bowen in Druien Hall in the School of Theology on CU’s Campus. Campbellsville University freshman will take their filled shoeboxes to FIRST CLASS on Monday, Nov. 18.
