Admission Requirements

Admission Criteria for ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) Program
*Transfer Students will be accepted using same criteria

Category: I
Admission Test: NLN 70th percentile or higher or ACT 24orhigher in last 5 years
GPA:
3.25 or higher GPA on 13 hours or more of prerequisite college work.

Category: II
Admission Test: NLN 60th percentile or higher or ACT 22 or higher in last 5 years
GPA: 3.0 or higher on 13 hours or more of prerequisite college work.

Category: III
Admission Test:
NLN 50th percentile or higher or ACT 20 or higher in the last 5 years.
GPA:
3.0 or higher GPA on 13 hours or more of prerequisite college work.

Admission Requirements

In order to be considered for admission or to be retained in the program after admission all applicants should possess:

  • Sufficient visual acuity, such as needed in the accurate preparation and administration of medications, and for the observation necessary forpatient assessment and nursing care.
  • Sufficient auditory perception to receive verbal communication from patients and members of the health team and to assess health needs of people through the use of monitoring devices such as cardiac monitor, stethoscope, IV infusion pumps, Doptone, fire alarms, etc.
  • Sufficient gross and fine motor coordination to respond promptly and to implement the skills, including the manipulation of equipment, required in meeting health needs.
  • Sufficient communication skills (speech, reading, writing) to interact with individuals and to communicate their needs promptly and effectively, as may be necessary in theindividual’s interest.
  • Sufficient intellectual and emotional functions to plan and implement care for individuals.

 

NATIONAL LEAGUE FOR NURSING PRE-ADMISSION EXAMINATION – RN

 

Saturday, November 8, 2008 - 9:00 a.m. EST

Registration must be completed by October 31, 2008

 

NLN Pre-Admission Exam will be offered at Campbellsville University in the School of Nursing Room Number 106.  The cost is $70.00. 

 

You must register by visiting www.nlnonlinetesting.org/pax . Just simply follow the registration links.  All major credit cards and money orders are accepted.  If you have any problems or questions please contact the School of Nursing.

 

The School of Nursing is located across the street from CVS Pharmacy on the campus of Campbellsville University.  Our Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, closed from 12:00 to 1:00 for lunch.  You may contact us at 270-789-5155.

You must have an ACT score (not older than 5 years) OR take the NLN exam in order to apply to the School of Nursing.

 

The NLN Pre-Admission Examination is a three hour test, this is an on-line test.  The Review for RN Pre-Entrance Exam 2nd Edition is available here on campus at Barnes & Noble for the price of $32.95

 

KBN Felony Information
