Criminal Justice Administration

The Campbellsville University Bachelor of Science Degree Completion program in Criminal Justice Administration (CJA) is designed for students who have completed an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at a community college. However admission consideration may be given on an individual basis to those with associates in other areas. Students should be aware that taking transitional courses from a community college while taking B.S. Degree Completion courses from CU is permissible and encouraged. Additionally, the following curriculum hours are related to graduation requirements:

  • AAS Criminal Justice and general education courses will transfer to CU for credit toward the B.S. Degree.
  • A total of 128 semester hours of academic work with a minimum standing of 2.10 in the area of concentration and a minimum overall average of 2.0 is required.
  • 52 hours of general education courses are required.
  • Additional transitional courses may be taken at the community college and applied to CU general education requirements.
  • A maximum of 79 semester hours may be transferred to CU from the community college. The remaining 49 semester credit hours must be earned at a four-year institution. (CU will offer these 49 hours at the site.)
  • 32 hours is the minimum number of hours that must be earned from CU for this degree. These may be taken from Campbellsville University either at the community college site or CU main campus.
  • A minimum of 42 hours must be in courses numbered 300 or above.

Criminal Justice Administration Area

The Criminal Justice Administration Area requires courses in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, and Business Administration.
