Undergraduate Program
School of Theology (B.A. and B.S.)

The student may choose from a variety of undergraduate programs that best fits his or her sense of calling and gifts including:

  • Biblical Studies (area, major, minor): teaching/preaching
  • Educational Ministries (area, major, minor): faith nurturing/developing
  • Pastoral Ministries (area, major, minor): leading, advising, teaching/preaching
  • Sports Ministry (major, minor): relationship building, witnessing
  • Worship Arts (area only):  leading, equipping

Every student in the above programs of study must complete the following 18 hr core requirements:

  • CHS 211 The Art of Reading the Bible (3 hrs)
  • CHS 230 Spiritual Formation (3 hrs)
  • CHS 300-400 level Old or New Testament Upper Division Biblical Studies (3 hrs)
  • CHS 432 Christian Theology (3 hrs)
  • CHS 471 Christian History (3 hrs)
  • CHS 380 Christian Studies Internship (3 hrs)

The program of Christian Studies is designed to produce able Christian ministers, whose training also prepares them, if inclined, for further growth in graduate theological education.

For the student who desires an abridged course of ministry preparation, the School of Theology offers two options, an Associate of Science Degree in Christian Studies (65 hrs minimum) and Certificate in Christian Ministry (27 hrs minimum).
