FOUR LADY TIGER SOFTBALL PLAYERS RECEIVE ALL-REGION HONORS AT NAIA REGION XI TOURNAMENT

 

Jackson, Tennessee – Four Campbellsville University softball players were named to the NAIA Region XI All-Region teams this week.

 

Named to the First Team All-Region were Kelly Vooris and Amanda Martin.    Vooris, a sophomore pitcher from Hopkinsville, Kentucky has pitched in 31 games for the Lady Tigers this season and currently has a record of 20-8.   She has an ERA of .073 and has pitched 192.1 innings and recorded 183 strike outs.   Vooris has given up 39 runs and only 27 walks on the season.

 

Martin, a junior from Louisville, Kentucky has played in all 48 games for the Lady Tigers this season.   She has a batting average of .353 and has 54 hits in 153 appearances at the plate.   She has scored 28 runs on the year.

 

Named to the Second Team All-Region were Michelle Baker and Amanda Nuyt.    Baker, a sophomore from Lexington, Kentucky has appeared in 45 games for the Lady Tigers as catcher.   She has a batting average of .261 and has had 36 hits in 138 at bats.   Nuyt is a junior from Louisville, Kentucky and has played in all 48 Lady Tiger games this year.   She has a batting average of .321 and has 52 hits in 162 at bats.  

 

The Lady Tigers are 32-16 on the season.
