LADY TIGERS TASTE DEFEAT FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON WITH 76-51 DRUBBING AT BRESCIA

Owensboro, KY – The perfect start to the 2007-08 basketball season came to an end last night for the Campbellsville Lady Tigers in an ugly fashion with a 76-51 loss on the road at Brescia University.

Campbellsville played even with Brescia until midway through the first half when a rally put the Lady Bearcats up by double digits.  They would lead 36-23 at halftime.

Brescia would not let up in the second half, completely taking Campbellsville away from it’s game plan and coasting to the 76-51 win.   Campbellsville could manage only 37.5% shooting for the game and hit only 1 of 9 three-point attempts as the Lady Tigers were continuously rattled by Brescia’s hard-nosed defense by committing 24 turnovers.

Meagan Murphy (JR/Liberty, KY) led Campbellsville with 9 points as the Lady Tigers fell to 4-1 on the season.

Campbellsville will play McKendree University on Saturday in a 2:00 p.m. game that will be played at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY.
