LADY TIGERS GIVE TOP RANKED UNION UNIVERSITY A BATTLE IN 77-73 LOSS

Jackson, Tennessee - The Campbellsville Lady Tigers took the nation’s top ranked team to the wire tonight in a 77-73 loss at Union University.

Campbellsville battled back from a 43-34 halftime deficit by shooting 55.6% in the second half, including 7 of 13 from the three-point line.  The Lady Tigers had a chance to tie the game late but missed a layup and Union was able to hit key free throw’s late in the game to escape with the win, and hand Campbellsville it’s third straight loss.

The Lady Tigers were led by Priscila Alves (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 21 points while Melly Heaton (FR/Princeton, KY) added 14 points.

Campbellsville falls to 4-3 and travels to McKenzie, Tennessee this weekend to play in the Bethel College Classic against Central Baptist on Friday and Bethel on Saturday.
