CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TO DEDICATE HOUCHEN’S INSURANCE GROUP FIELD BEFORE KICKOFF AGAINST SHORTER COLLEGE ON SATURDAY

Campbellsville, Kentucky - Campbellsville University will officially dedicate it’s newly renovated football field as the Houchens Insurance Group Field this Saturday shortly before the opening kick-off of the game with Shorter College.

“We are extremely pleased to have the support of the Houchens Foundation and their many corporate enterprises,” said Campbellsville University President Dr. Michael V. Carter.  “They are very supportive of higher education as it impacts students lives for the food.  We feel honored to have their support here at Campbellsville University,” he added.

Saturday’s ceremony will be attended by several representatives of the Houchens Foundation, local dignitaries and University officials and special guests.

The new field features an entirely new playing surface of natural Bermuda grass with a one percent grade, replacing the “crown” that was a dominating feature in the center of the field for the past twenty years.  There is also a new irrigation system, new scoreboard, goal posts and expanded seating as part of the renovation project.

Kick off for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. with the dedication scheduled for approximately 1:15 p.m.
