On Valentine’s Day, we were excited to participate in a large-group learning experience at the ESL Institute. All 46 students and 9 teachers got together in the BASC to learn about the history of Valentine’s Day and the customs involved with this holiday. The morning began with a history of St. Valentine. Then students participated in round-table discussions about how the holiday is celebrated around the world. After that, the students wrote and performed hilarious skits that centered around Valentine vocabulary like “Cupid”, “heartthrob”, and “lovebirds”. Lastly, students enjoyed Valentine’s treats and created artistic posters that included love poems. Please enjoy these pictures from the day!
