Earth Day events begin tomorrow Tuesday, April 22
CU's Earth Day kickoff event is tomorrow Tuesday, April 22, with added events through the week. Event details follow: - Earth Day 2014 tree-planting program 1:30 p.m. April 22at the Turner Log Cabin Park And at 5 p.m. April 22, Dr. Matthew Sleeth, noted creation care (earth stewardship) speaker and writer and head of the Blessed Earth organization, will speak at the Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP) programin the Banquet Hall. April 23, 7 p.m. Earth Week movie night in Mobley Theater,"Life of Pi," with free popcorn. April 25, 4:30 p.m. Earth Day Hike at Clay Hill Memorial Forest. Students needing transportation to the hike can meet in front of the SUB at 4:15 p.m. The events are being co-sponsored by Campbellsville University Green Minds, Environmental Ethics class and Student Government (SGA).
Army/Reserve open house and lunch Wednesday
Campbellsville University will be hosting a US Army/ US Army Reserve open house Wednesday, April 23 from 10 a.m.until 11:30 a.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall of the Gosser Fine Arts Center. Four topics will be presented to current students of options to assist students in paying for college through programs offered by the US Army. The topics are: Army Band, Enlisted soldier benefits, ROTC program and Simultaneous Membership Program.Each brief will focus on details for participating and the related education benefits. Lunch will be available after the briefs in the lobby of The Gheens Recital Hall.
