CU employees get discount on 'Antigone'

Attention all CU employees! Don't forget your tickets to see this week's CU Theater production of Antigone only cost $2! The show opens this Thursday.

Student Harry Haynes to plunge in Alumni & Friends Park Wednesday, Feb. 19

Senior Harry Haynes will be doing a pre-plunge into the fountain at Alumni & Friends Park tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2 p.m.

Haynes is not able to be at the Tiger Plunge on Saturday at 1:20 p.m. so he is testing the waters tomorrow. You're invited to come out and watch.

So far he is second in overall fund raising for the Tiger Plunge. At $120.23, he trails Stan McKinney, associate professor of journalism, by $6.77. The top fundraiser receive a Golden Plunger Award. President Michael V. Carter is third.

You can donate tomorrow or Saturday. There will also be a table in the Winters Dining Hall on Thursday and Friday. There's also still time for you to take the plunge. You can sign up at either place or time.

Proceeds go to the Alumni & Friends Park, the School of Nursing and the university chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Dr. Gerald Smith to speak at KHIPP event

Dr. Gerald Smith, associate pastor of African/American history and the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar-in-Residence at the University of Kentucky, will speak at the Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy event Monday, Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center. He will speak on "The African American Experience in Kentucky." His presentation is part of Campbellsville University's emphasis on Black History Month.

Attached is a flier with more detail including a biography of Dr. Smith. He is also the editor of the Kentucky African American Encyclopedia which will be published in a year or two. He is also a Baptist pastor. Please encourage students, and those in your office, to attend as well. Convo credit will be given for this event.

Just order at register and someone will seat you. We will take care of the rest. So plan on a nice meal out with your daughter. Due to limited space we will only seat by reservation only. Student needs ride to airport in Lexington

Jose Falcon needs a ride to the Lexington airport either Thursday in the afternoon or Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. He needs to catch a 1 p.m. flight Friday.
