Conquer Committee sponsoring 5K/Dash and St. Baldick's shaving
You are invited to participate in the St. Baldrick's Conquer Week events March 15 and 22. “Color To Conquer 5K/Dash” kicks off Saturday, March 15, at 8:30 am at Miller Park. Last year 455 participants helped with the effort to conquer obesity and diabetes by getting active. Campbellsville University's “Color To Conquer” raised nearly $10,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation which funds pediatric cancer research.
Childhood cancer is a serious issue and the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. Of the seven children CU has honored with the Campbellsville event, two have died which shows just how important efforts are. The “Shaving To Conquer” event (St. Baldrick's) is on Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. in Powell Athletic Center and culminates the week of Conquer Committee activities. The total from the two Conquer events helped push CU past $270,000 raised in six years from our community to “conquer” cancer in kids.
Your support is vital in raising awareness locally about the need for increased activity and funding pediatric cancer research.
You can sign up online for our “Color To Conquer” at www.colortoconquer.com or pick up registration forms at CU Hawkins lobby, The Green Room, Wise Dentistry For Kids or N2Fitness. To shave/barber/volunteer in our “Shave To Conquer” go to www.stbaldricks.org and sign up for the Campbellsville University event.
