Fighting children’s cancer on Saturday

Campbellsville University is hosting two events to combat children’s cancer. A “Color to Conquer” walk and 5K run will be Saturday, March 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Miller Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m. During the event, participants will be sprayed with colored cornstarch as they compete in the walk/run. Registration forms are at The Green Room, Campbellsville Apparel or Hawkins Athletics Center lobby.On Saturday, March 23, will be the sixth annual St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event at 11 a.m. in CU’s Powell Athletic Center. Campbellsville has raised $220,000 toward fighting childhood cancer, and Donna Wise, chair of the Department of Human Performance and assistant professor of physical education and athletics at CU, organizer of the events, said she hopes this year a cumulative $250,000 can be raised. Earth Stewardship Forum on Tuesday

An “Earth Stewardship Forum” will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center. Ben Lowe, author of “Green Revolution: Coming Together to Care for Creation, will be the speaker. He is an advocate for the development of green jobs - both with the economy and the environment. The event is sponsored by the Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy; everyone is invited to the free event. Lowe will speak at chapel Wednesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel. Please encourage students to attend the forum; chapel credit will be given.
