CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Dr. Mike O’Neal welcomed everyone to a recent meeting of Campbellsville University’s Church Relations Council executive committee. The Rev. Steve Sholar led the opening prayer.

Updates on Campbellsville University were shared by Dr. John Chowning, Vice President for Church and External Relations; Benji Kelly, Vice President for development; Dr. John Hurtgen, dean of the School of Theology; Dr. Tony Cunha, dean of the School of Music; and the Rev. Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries.

Members heard about the upcoming Seminary for a Day at Immanuel Baptist Church in Glasgow, Ky. March 22 with leaders from the CU School of Theology and the School of Music. Pastoral Letters, Pastoral Leadership will be taught by Dr. John Hurtgen and Dr. Scott Wigginton. Creating Simple Processes to Lead Your Church Well is the subject which will be taught by Dr. Shane Garrison and Dr. G. Ted Taylor. Leading Worship When It’s Just You will be taught by Dr. Tony Cunha.

Pavy reported spring break mission trips are scheduled for Florida, the Texas/Mexico border, Tanzania, Haiti and the Holy Land tour.

The spring 2014 annual CRC meeting theme is “For Such a Time as This” from the Book of Esther 4:14. The guest speaker will be Dr. Charles Carter, James H. Chapman fellow of pastoral ministry and professor of ministry leadership development, at Beeson Divinity School at Samford University.
