Campbellsville University’s Carver School of Social Work & Counseling offers two opportunities in acquiring a post-secondary degree. The baccalaureate degree, offered in our BSW program, stresses academic excellence, Christian leadership, and personal growth within a nurturing, caring environment.  The BSW program expands the University mission by advancing students toward continued learning in all aspects of life with a special emphasis in the professional application of generalist social work practice.  As a facilitator of change, the program prepares students to serve diverse communities, organizations, groups, families, and individuals, particularly in a rural environment, at all levels of social work practice.

This BSW program, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, prepares students with the knowledge and skills to practice generalist level social work. Upon satisfactory completion of the BSW degree graduates are qualified to work with agencies that provide home health, mental health, comprehensive health, child & adult protection, vocational rehabilitation, child and family services, church social services, family resource services, and case management in a variety of settings.

The second academic opportunity offered through the Carver School of Social Work & Counseling is a Master of Science in Counseling (MSC) Degree.  The MSC program was developed to enhance career opportunities for persons called to counseling individuals, families, and groups in a variety of occupational venues. The basic generalist curriculum provides the foundation for this degree but is built upon to prepare an advanced level graduate who is academically prepared to seek licensure as a counselor in Kentucky and various other states. Information about the generalist and advanced level tracks can be found through the following link: MSC Program
