Dr. Michael V. Carter presents the Board of Trustees a poster for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s series “Poets and Prophets,” which honors trailblazing Nashville singer, songwriter, and producer Buzz Cason for his work in the fields of rock and soul. Cason has written songs sung by acclaimed artists including The Beatles, U2, Pearl Jam, Jerry Lee Lewis and Gloria Estefan.

The program coincided with July’s month-long 10th anniversary of “Night Train to Nashville: Music City Rhythm & Blues,” the museum’s two-disc compilation album and exhibit showcasing Nashville’s R&B legacy. Cason co-wrote and co-produced Robert Knight’s hit “Everlasting Love,” which is featured on the record. (Campbellsville University Photo by Joan C. McKinney)
