T
he breadth and depth of the biology program within the Division of Natural Science reflects quality and preparation at their finest. A variety of biology courses are offered, including Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Vertebrate Development, Ornithology and many others.

Students majoring in biology pursue careers in dentistry, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, and veterinary science. The Division has over a 95% acceptance rate for students entering professional schools after completing studies at Campbellsville University.   Students seeking entrance into a professional school (medical school, dental school, pharmacy, physical therapy or veterinary medicince)complete a degree with a  major in biology and minor in chemistry. (A major in chemistry and minor in biology is also possible.)

Biology majors may also pursue graduate level studies.  A student may complete a major or minor in Biology, each leading to the Bachelor of Science Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree, without teacher certification.

The third option of study is in the field of education.  Those wishing teacher certification may obtain secondary teacher certification with a major in Biology or middle school certification with an emphasis in science.

The Natural Science Division recently developed a minor in Environmental Sciences. Students selecting the minor may chose either an Applied Environmental Sciences emphasis or an Environmental Studies emphasis.  The Applied Environmental Sciences emphasis is intended for Biology and Chemistry majors.
