All mass communication majors and areas at Campbellsville University require an internship, therefore we have entered into partnerships with a variety of media. Students are welcome to seek out their own internship, but the following is a brief list of our partnerships:
CKNJ Journalism Scholars Program
The Central Kentucky News-Journal’s editorial department is now accepting applications for its Journalism Scholars Program, a 10-week internship program that is offered to a Campbellsville University journalism student during the spring and fall semesters of each academic year.

Baptist Hospital East
Applications are being taken online only for a fall public relations internship at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. This paid internship is 12 to 15 hours a week, molded to the student’s schedule. Applicants must be college sophomore or above, majoring in public relations, communications, journalism or a similar major.

Lexington, WDKY FOX 56/Sinclair Broadcast Group’s only Kentucky station, is offering an opportunity for you to gain experience in the fields of marketing, research, sales promotions and advertising. You will work directly in the Sales Marketing Department to help our sales team to help their clients.
We work in a business of building relationships that will last a long time.
Some duties may include general office tasks, helping organize sales events and contests, writing scripts, organizing PSAs for on-air use, media research and much more. The intern must have a friendly disposition, be able to work with a variety of people and be well organized to juggle multiple tasks at once. Computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a must.

Kentucky Press Association
Internships for $3000 are awarded to any student who has completed his or her freshman year at a Kentucky university. The internships are completed at selected Kentucky newspapers for a period of 10 weeks during the summer.

Kentucky Press Association Associates PR Student Intern Program
This program offers four awards each summer to students who are placed in a public relations work setting. Students receive $3,000 for the internship. Completed applications include work experience/resume, college courses completed, letter of referral from an adviser or department director, list of college activities, list of scholarships received and a statement of no more than 250 words on why the applicant is interested in a public relations career.
