Jason Garrett

    Jason Garrett is an associate professor of mass communication at Campbellsville University where he has taught since 2003.

     Garrett received his bachelor’s in theatre arts from Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, N.C. in 1998 and received his master’s in 2001 and his doctorate in 2008 in communication and cinema studies from Regent University, Virginia Beach, Va.  He has won several awards for his short films including a Silver Telly Award and a Gold Remi Award.  In 2009, he wrote, produced, directed, shot, and edited To Fly, his first feature film, which has screened to audiences at film festivals in North America, Europe, Africa, and Australia.

     Garrett has also worked with Hope Communications in Bulgaria, Lithuania and Poland to produce documentaries and promotional videos for local missionaries.

     He is married to Starr Garrett, director of the theater department at CU, and the proud father of two boys, August and Everest.
