Leadership Studies (ROTC)

The Reserve Officers' Training Corp (ROTC) program is meant to strengthen students' leadership abilities and generally is taken by students that plan to enter the military and pursue a position as an officer.

Leadership Studies Minor Option 1 (24 Hours)

The Leadership Studies Minor Option 1 is offered to students who enroll in classes from freshman through senior years.  This ROTC leadership program is offered through attending classes at both Campbellsville University and Western Kentucky University (WKU - one day per week.) 

MSL 101    Leadership and Personal Development (2 hours)
MSL 102    Introduction to Tactical leadership (2 hours)
MSL 201    Innovative Team Leadership (3 hours)
MSL 202    Foundations of Tactical (3 hours)
MSL 301    Adaptive Team Leadership (3 hours)
MSL 302    Leadership in Changing Environments (4 hours)
MSL 401    Developing Adaptive Leadership (3 hours)
MSL 402    Leadership in a Complex World (4 hours)
      Elective Courses:
MSL 210    Military Science Practicum:  Leaders Training Course (7 hours)
                   Intensive summer course held at Fort Knox.  This practicum is in lieu of freshman and sophomore
                   classes (101, 102, 201, and 202.)

Leadership Studies Minor Option 2 (21 Hours)

The Leadership Studies Minor Option 2 is offered to students who enroll in classes beginning the summer of the junior year.  This Reserve Officers' Training Corp (ROTC) leadership program is offered through attending classes at both Campbellsville University and Western Kentucky University (WKU - one day per week.) 

MSL 210    Military Science Practicum:  Leaders Training Course (7 hours)
                   Intensive summer course held at Fort Knox.  This practicum is in lieu of freshman and sophomore
                   classes (101, 102, 201, and 202.)
MSL 301    Adaptive Team Leadership (3 hours)
MSL 302    Leadership in Changing Environments (4 hours)
MSL 401    Developing Adaptive Leaders (3 hours)
MSL 402    Leadership in a Complex World (4 hours)
      Elective Courses:
MSL 410    Military Science Practicum:  Leaders Development and Assessment Course (6 hours)
                   An intensive five-week summer field course to be taken between the junior and senior year.
                   Prerequisites:  MSL 301, MSL 302
