Alert me!
A new trend in information services is the alert. If you're interested in getting alert services from a database or search engine, look over the following list. If anything interests you, give Sandra Riggs a call or email to either set one up for you, or provide directions.
- EBSCO Host Journal Alert -- If your favorite journal is carried by EBSCO, you can have the database alert you when a new issue is released to the database.
- EBSCO Host RSS Feed -- you can have an EBSCO database run a search for you and get results as an RSS feed
- EBSCO Host E-mail RSS -- same as above, except that you can change the frequency that the search is run, and have the feed e-mailed to you.
- Google Alert -- Have Google run a search on the Web, or just in new or Blogs, and send you e-mail results.
- ProQuest Alert -- run a search in a ProQuest database and have the database re-run it daily, weekly, monthly, or only when new records have been added. Results are e-mailed to you.
