FIRST:
Fill out and
send in a
Tiger Marching Band application.
Simply print out, fill out and mail back to the address at the bottom of the form.
AUDITIONS:
Saturday, April 5. You must call 270-789-5425
or e-mail
Chad Floyd in advance to reserve a place for
you at the auditions.
TIME:
Session will begin at 9:30am and will end around noon (EST)
WHAT TO BRING:
Your own mallets and/or
sticks. We will provide all other equipment.
WHO NEEDS TO
AUDITION:
Any new applicant to the Tiger Marching Band
who is interested in playing in the
battery or sideline percussion sections.
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR
BATTERY AUDITIONS:
You need to learn the
drumline
audition music
for each instrument
on which you would like to audition. If you are unable to download and print that music, please contact us at the phone number
or e-mail listed above and we will send you a copy through the mail. There may
also be some
sight-reading or short exercises taught on the spot.
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR
SIDELINE/FRONT ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS:
Prepare a one minute (or so)
etude or solo of your choice that
best displays
your mallet skills. You should also be ready to play all major scales, up
to 4 flats and 3 sharps, 2 octaves. There may also be some sight-reading or short exercises
taught on the spot.
WHAT ELSE:
The purpose of the tryouts is to identify the area in which you are most able to
serve the band. We hope to
find a place in the percussion section for every applicant.
