Auditions
Each student desiring admission to a music degree program at Campbellsville University is
required to perform an audition for a panel of music Faculty members. This performance should show evidence of
competence and is rated by the Faculty as to the ability and potential of the
individual.
The audition process lasts about 15 minutes. You will perform a piece of your choosing that reflects
your talent and current level of technical expertise. The style of the
musical selection you chose to perform should be appropriate to a university
setting. You will also sight read a brief passage. A Faculty member
will discuss with you your audition and the possibility of performance grants
funds right after your audition.
An accompanied audition is strongly recommended for vocalists, optional for instrumentalists. We will
provide a pianist to accompany you if a legible score is received at least one
week in advance. Recorded accompaniments are also acceptable.
Prospective students are STRONGLY encouraged to
audition on one of the scheduled audition dates listed below. If you
cannot attend any of these dates because of previously scheduled activities, you
may schedule an audition on another day by contacting the School of Music Office at
(270) 789-5237 or
music@campbellsville.edu. You may ask the Admissions
Office (1-800-264-6014) to arrange an audition time for you if you are planning
your campus visit through their office.
