Nicholas County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources/4-H Youth Development in Carlisle, KY
The Extension Agent for Agriculture and 4-H Youth Development will provide leadership for educational programs in agriculture and natural resources and 4-H for Nicholas County.
The Agent responsibilities include: (1) jointly share responsibility of planning and implementing a 4-H program with the agent for family and consumer sciences; (2) develop agricultural proficiency of local citizens through educational programs; (3) provide agricultural expertise to answer questions and solve problems related to agriculture and natural resources; (4) utilize and/or develop councils, advisory groups, and committees to facilitate community involvement in programming; (5) develop field trials, test demonstrations and result demonstrations in areas related to agricultural and horticultural production and natural resources; (4) jointly provide leadership to community programming around issues involving leadership development, community involvement, local government, community services and other forms of community economic development. Emphasis on cattle and tobacco and diversified agriculture. Minimum requirement of a BS or MS degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, or closely related field.
