Mass communication students may major in broadcasting and digital media, journalism or public relations. Each major requires 36 hours including an internship.
Students may also minor in broadcasting and digital media, journalism, photojournalism or public relations. Each minor requires 24 hours. An internship is not required for a minor.
Those who wish to study all of the disciplines within mass communication may elect to complete an area. An area consists of a minimum of 60 hours and takes the place of a major and minor. An internship is required. Students must also compile an electronic portfolio. See advisors for details.
Students may NOT complete a major AND minor within mass communication.
