Programs Offered

Mass communication students may major in broadcasting and digital media, filmjournalism or public relations. Each major requires 37 hours, including an internship and a senior portfolio course.

Students may also minor in broadcasting and digital media, film, journalism, photojournalism or public relations. An internship is not required for a minor.

Those who wish to study all of the disciplines within mass communication may elect to complete an area. An area consists of a minimum of 61 hours and takes the place of a major and minor. The internship and senior portfolio are still required.  See advisors for details.

With the exception of Film, students may not complete a major and minor within mass communication.

Journalism major Chia-wen Lai, known on campus as Angela, takes an exam.
