2013 Servant Leadership Projects
Students partnered with another First Class to donate clothing and money for Mongolian orphans.
Students raised $200 for Elkhorn Baptist Church’s youth program. They collected and delivered over 100 food items to the local Food Pantry and also collected and delivered over 100 clothing items and about 15 pair of shoes, most of them new, to the Mission Store in south Campbellsville.
Students visited Meadowview Nursing Home and ministered to the residents there.
Activities hosted by Education First Class students such as Math Bingo, Cookie Walk, Ring Toss, Face Painting, and Despicable Me were all involved in this fun night for first graders.
Students collected phones and sent them to Hope Phone, an organization that serves third-world countries.
By working with the University’s landscaping crew, students partnered with the other Humanities First Class and raised funds and placed stones outside the Montgomery Library, which represents over 30 different languages saying “Welcome”
Students helped clean up alongside the road at Clay Memorial Forest as well as within the forest.
Students traveled to Grandview Nursing Home and provided socks, chapstick, and lotion to the residents and got to know them.
Students traveled to the Healing Place and participated in their community event with the residents
The students volunteered at the Animal Shelter where they exercised the animals and did other help. The students also volunteered at Medco Cursing Home where they played games with residents. Other students volunteered at CMS where they learned about World Hunger through FreeRice.com.
Students collected household and personal cleaning supplies and donated them to Green River Ministries.
Students collected 500 jackets an hoodies and $600 as a donation for Mongolian Orphans through the Mongolian Orphan Project.
Students taught freshman students at Taylor County High School ways to S.T.O.P bullying.
Students participated in the event Color to Conquor 5K to help raise money for fighting childhood cancer and childhood obesity. Students worked in the color zones, water areas, and registration. They also helped beforehand.
Students participated in an after school program where they played with many different children.
Students conducted an Earth Day event inviting students to come and help plant tree and learn more about being Earth-friendly.
Students held a cell phone drive to donate "old" cell phones to be used to raise money for Feed The Children.
Students helped host Agape Shop, a monthly food and clothing pantry. They raised $500 for food and hygiene items. Students also worked in different areas of the church.
Students placed orange ribbons all around campus to raise awareness about dating violence.
Students created a reading project for the students at Kentucky Christian Academy and participated in different literacy activities.
