*Developer/Software Engineer (depending on the qualifications). The responsibilities of this fully proficient, senior software developer classification includes a variety of production and development tasks such as supporting and enhancing existing software applications, customizing vendor packages and other applications, supporting and training users/clients, troubleshooting user applications and interfaces, systems integration and resolving user acceptance problems. Senior Software Developers/Software Engineers participate in the full software development life cycle, which may include being a project lead on a project specific basis. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President, New Business Systems
*The ideal candidate will have the following:
Professional qualifications or equivalent training in information systems education as evidenced by a bachelor’s degree
or its business equivalent.
At least five (5) years of related experience is required.
Strong written and oral communication skills and detailed knowledge of existing systems and business needs of the
clients to whom the incumbent is assigned.
Some experience in developing Java Multi-threaded application.
Requires hands on knowledge in developing and coding industry strength Insurance application using JSF/JSP,
Hibernate; JDK 6 and WAS 7; EJB, J2EE standards; Spring and Hibernate based framework.
Knowledge of System Integration using following Service/Data Standards (XML, XSLT; ACORD; SOAP; WSDL;
MTOM, SwA based Web services; ETL).
Knowledge of using SQL Server and DB2.
Working knowledge of relational Database Design in MS SQL, good understanding of TSQL, Query Optimization
Ability to code Messaging based Integration using JMS or MQ Series.
Knowledge of Rule based engine framework and ability to understand Business Process implementation using Rules.
Knowledge of MAR and SOX compliance as it pertains to application development and security.
Manage and maintain codes using RAD/Eclipse based IDE, including maintaining Source repository.
Experience in designing and coding Cluster aware application.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of software engineering, including software development life cycle.
