Position: Water Treatment Plant Operator
Primary duties: include operation and maintenance of a Class 4 surface water treatment plant. Examples of duties are: conducting chemical and physical analyses; adjusting chemical feed equipment; monitoring all treatment equipment and adjusting as necessary; monitoring distribution system performance and reporting problems to Distribution Supervisor and Service Watch on-call personnel; some light equipment maintenance such as changing oils, greasing equipment, and painting; maintaining proper records and reports; and maintaining plant cleanliness.
Class I Certification is required within 18 months of employment with continued progress toward a Class IV Operator License. Education in environmental engineering; environmental technology; or biological, physical, or chemical sciences would be a plus. Applicants must have a valid Kentucky driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Please submit high school or college transcripts with application.
