CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University will be hosting a 3-D Scholastic Archery event on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the indoor practice center on campus at 300 Underwood St., Campbellsville.

The event will begin with check-in at 7 a.m. and wrap up around 6 p.m.

The archers competing will be using a standard hunting compound bow, shooting
at approximately 20 yards indoors, with a draw weight of up to 60 lbs. Other archers may be using a bare/basic recurve bow with the draw weight ranging between 25 to 50 lbs.

The style of shooting that will take place at the competition is similar to that of the U.S. Collegiate Archery Association. Teams are allowed an unlimited amount of archers and all archers will be able to shoot at the competition.

Archers will be shooting at a standard 5-spot target and will release between 60 and 120 arrows. This allows students to make an easier transition from high school archery to the collegiate level, where there is growing participation and scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors from across the state and country.

Scholastic 3-D Archery is a non-profit organization that strives to educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D and indoor archery. Students compete in archery tournaments across the state and country, which provides students the opportunities to be involved with different archery companies and local archery shops.
