CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Dr. Molly Marshall, president and professor of theology and spiritual formation at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Shawnee, Kan., will speak at two upcoming events at Campbellsville University.
Marshall will speak at a “Christians for Biblical Equality Forum” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center (BASC) at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
She will also be speaking in chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
The forum is being held as a part of the Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP), which has been established for purposes of focusing attention on and debate of public policy issues at the regional, state, national and international level.
Marshall has been involved with theological education for over 30 years.
She has served in many positions at Central Baptist Theological Seminary including acting academic dean and visiting professor of theology, spiritual formation and worship. She also served as the associate professor of theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
“I believe in what we do at Central as we prepare women and men for seeking God, shaping a church and serving humanity,” said Marshall.
She has also served a youth and campus minister and as a pastor in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Kentucky.
Marshall is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University. She received her master of divinity and Ph.D. degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Marshall spent time furthering her graduate work at Princeton Theology Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey; Tantur Ecumenical Institute, Jerusalem, Israel; and Cambridge University.
During her life, Marshall has written a variety of works, including three monographs: “No Salvation Outside the Church?,” “What it Means to Be Human” and “Joining the Dance: Theology of the Spirit.”
Her work has also been published in books, dictionary and journal articles and Bible study curriculum. Marshall is working on a piece of commentary for the book of Thessalonians for the BELIEF series.
She has presented many of her papers to esteemed societies and academic institutions. She has a regular preaching schedule and is nationally recognized for the lectures she delivers at colleges and universities.
Marshall has also lectured internationally in Hong Kong, Japan; Prague, Czech Republic; and Toronto, Ontario.
Within the past decade, Marshall has been recognized for many awards including the Whitsitt Baptist Courage Award and the Betty Galloway Advocacy for Women in Ministry Award. Marshall is a life-long Baptist and is a member of the Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie Village, Kan.
“I love to witness what transpires in the lives of students as they engage the great intellectual heritage of the church,” Marshall said.
