Starr Garrett is the Director of the Theater Program and an Associate Professor with Campbellsville University. She regularly teaches Acting, Directing and Stagecraft. Her directing credits include Red, Antigone, Little Women, How to Succeed…, and All My Sons. Her design credits include Swing!, Hamlet, 9 to 5, and Shrek. Starr holds a B.A. in Theater Arts at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Palm Beach, FL, a MA in Communication with emphasis in Acting and Directing for Theater from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. She has been recognized for excellence in directing by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and has presented at the Southeastern Theater Conference.
Ms. Garrett is passionate about bringing Theater to the community around CU and has worked to form a partnership with TownHall Productions, a local production company, in order to bring community theater to the area. In addition to community based productions, this work includes the development of a youth theater training program, the Creative Spirit Theater Academy.
