Position description: 

The City of Campbellsville is currently taking applications for the position of Campbellsville Police E 9-1-1 Communications Officer. Applications will be accepted until NOON on through October 31, 2016

The Communications Officer receives, prioritizes, documents, and disseminates emergency and non-emergency calls, pertaining to Law Enforcement, Fire, Rescue, EMS, and other municipal government services, using a computer aided dispatch system.

Responsible for correctly & rapidly determining what action is to be taken, dispatching appropriate agencies, monitoring radio transmissions, giving pre-arrival instructions and documenting and recording information relating to the event, which may involve life and death situations.

Position requirements: 

Must be a U.S. Citizen at least 18 years of age, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, submit to and pass a criminal background check and fingerprint screening, Homeland Security screening, drug test, polygraph examination, and suitability screening. Successful candidates must also complete all in house training and a 5 week Telecommunications training course at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. Candidates must be available for shift work, weekends and holidays and be able to travel for training
