Born in our nation’s capital, Chris Conver was raised in Maryland, and graduated with his Bachelor’s from the University of Richmond in Virginia. He received the M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. With nearly 30 years of experience as a youth worker, Dr. Conver also worked in religious publishing for more than 20 years. Dr. Conver began teaching at Campbellsville University in 2002, and was promoted to Associate Professor of Theology in 2016. He is the co-author of a book with his brother, Dr. Leigh Conver, Self-Defeating Life-Styles (Broadman Press, 1988). Dr. Conver also has written the introduction to several books, including two authored by William Barclay, At the Last Trumpet: Jesus Christ and the End of Time (WJK, 1998), and Good Tidings of Great Joy: The Birth of Jesus the Messiah (WJK, 1999). Dr. Conver teaches in the area of Biblical Studies, Church History, Spiritual Formations, and Christianity & Culture, with his favorite course being, “Theology in Film.” He did post-doctorate studies in the areas of Post-modernism, and in American Gospel Music. He has traveled extensively, and enjoys watching sports, viewing films, having a good laugh, and listening to a story well-told.
