Glenn Arnold Carter, USN(Ret), FRAeS
Coming to Campbellsville University in January 2024 as the new Director now for our
Campbellsville University – Los Angeles. Glenn grew up in an Air Force family, which
influenced his decision to join the United States Navy. He has over 20 years of experience
in Naval executive and safety management, supervision, security, and maritime. He
served as an aviation gas-free engineer, company commander, aircraft maintenance manager,
line operations manager, air traffic controller, aviation structural mechanic, and
quality assurance manager, among numerous other positions, before retiring from the
United States Navy.
After retiring, Glenn continued his adventure as an aviation manager, consultant,
contracting officer, and technical representative. He assisted in developing the Transportation
Security Administration Airport Access Control Pilot Program and other security projects
for the United States Department of Homeland Security. In July of 2006, Mr. Carter
also assisted with reviewing the North Carolina Rural Court Commission on Courthouse
Security and Safety for all Judges, Staff, and Public Personnel. Afterward, while
working in the Middle East, he helped develop the academic infrastructure documents
for Qatar Aeronautical Academy and the ab initio Airline Pilot training program to
transition new pilots to Qatar Airways. In recognition of this success, Glenn was
nominated to the Royal Aeronautical Society in the United Kingdom and became a Fellow
on the 8th of March 2022.
Glenn also served as a Director of Academic support with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
University in Orlando, Florida, and Ramstein, Germany, and then as a Dean for the
School of Aviation Science at Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire.
Glenn graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science
in Professional Aeronautics and a Master of Science in Aeronautical Science. He is
currently a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership at Liberty University.
As a father of five sons and a daughter, he enjoys playing drums, flying, golfing,
traveling, watching historical documentaries, hiking, and exploring different countries.
He has been happily married to Nina M. Carter, MD, MBA, for more than twenty years.
