Justy Engle is an Associate Professor of English and serves as Faculty Athletics Representative. She earned her Ph.D. in Humanities, with a concentration in Aesthetics and Creativity, from the University of Louisville, and her dissertation was a critical/creative hybrid that focused on three interconnected women in distinct time periods. She holds a graduate certificate in Medieval and Renaissance Studies in addition to an M.A. in Humanities. She earned a dual B.A. in English and Humanities and minored in Latin. Her research interests include women’s spiritual autobiography, women’s artistic self-representations in mixed genre works, the sociopolitical nature of science-fiction, as well as historical and contemporary monasticism with a focus on Christian mysticism.
