Job Summary: The Part-Time Youth Minister is responsible for developing and implementing programs that engage, mentor, and disciple youth within the church community. This role involves fostering a supportive environment that encourages spiritual growth, community involvement, and personal development. This position reports to Senior Pastor/personnel committee.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development: Design and lead youth programs, including Bible studies, retreats, and community service projects.
Spiritual Guidance: Provide spiritual support and mentorship to youth, helping them grow in their faith and understanding of scripture.
Community Engagement: Organize outreach activities that promote the church’s mission and involve youth in serving the community.
Event Planning: Coordinate youth events, including social gatherings, fundraisers, and mission trips.
Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, guardians, and church leadership regarding youth activities and spiritual development.
Collaboration: Work closely with other church staff and volunteers to ensure a cohesive ministry approach.
Recruitment and Training: Identify and train volunteers to assist with youth programs and activities.
Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of youth programs and make adjustments as needed based on feedback and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education: The church is open, and realizes that some applicants may be pursuing a degree while being employed with the church
Experience: Prior experience in youth ministry or working with young people is desirable.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for mentoring youth.
Faith Commitment: A deep personal faith in Christ and alignment with the church’s beliefs and mission.
Work Environment:
Part-time position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Active participation in church services and events is expected.
