Recording and Tracking Attendance

It is the time of the semester and bi-term when tracking attendance in your in-seat course becomes increasingly important. The CU Class Attendance Policy is available in the Faculty Handbook (pages 138-139), which is posted in the Forms and Documents – Faculty section of TigerNet.  Remember that instructors are expected to submit an Absence Report Form when students have approximately half of the maximum absences allowed in a class (see the Faculty Handbook for details and the Forms and Documents – Faculty page for the Absence Template).

An instruction sheet for setting up the attendance activity, as well as recording and tracking attendance is posted (though hidden from students) in each course shell just under the Attendance activity in the top section the course.  A copy of the How to Use the Attendance Activity Sheet is available here.

Watch the brief video below to see an easy way to view a summary of all student absences without having to scroll through the table that lists each course session.
