Juliana Moura, soprano, is associate professor of voice and assistant director of the Opera Workshop at Campbellsville University. She is pursuing a DMA in Vocal Performance at the University of Kentucky. Moura debuted professionally as Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello as part of the apprentice artist program at the Kentucky Opera. She was a top seven finalist in the International Czech Competition, Montreal, Canada. Moura has sung in master classes and concerts to Stephanie Blythe, Jake Heggie, Ben Moore, Mathew Latha, Lisa Hasson and George Darden. In the opera field, Moura has sung the roles of Mimi, Desdemona, Dido, Lauretta, Micaela, Lucy, the Countess, the First Lady, Sister Genovieffa among other characters. She performed in Rome, Italy, in 2012 with Rome Festival. Her recent engagement includes a Gala Concert opening a Voice Seminar in Brazil for the University of Espirito Santo, where she led a four-day masterclass.
