Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
Campbellsville University’s Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (BS ECE) provides graduates with a clear route to teaching in the elementary school system or a childcare center. Held at the CU Louisville Education Center, our advanced curriculum equips students with skills needed to teach in the field, and the program is similarly designed to reflect a professional teaching environment.
Our school imagines a global society where all individuals are empowered to achieve their goals and teachers can transform others with Christian leadership, no matter the student’s mental ability. To achieve this vision, we must prepare our instructors with an academic framework built on scholarship, service, and Christian fellowship. We are looking for curious and caring scholars who are committed to improving the education system in today’s connected world. The School of Education is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (now called Council for the Accreditation Educator Preparation: CAEP).
For our accelerated BS in Early Childhood Education, Campbellsville assumes that an incoming student has little to no prior college experience, so admission requirements are flexible. Graduates of the BS ECE program will have the requisite skills to become a director of a preschool or childcare facility, as well as a path to the K-6 system.
At the CU Louisville Education Center, continuing students can reach their educational goals in as little as 18 months. Our satellite campus holds an accelerated program with rigorous classes that meet one night a week, Monday to Thursday. In addition to the BS ECE degree, the Education Center offers a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, where students can prepare to enter a career in early care, hospitals, campus child development centers, recreation centers, and many other fields.
No matter which pathway you choose to reach your educational goals, Campbellsville University is an excellent option for early childhood education. We are also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Our Education Center is facilitated by an outstanding group of full-time and adjunct faculty, including Donna Fohl (Assistant Professor, ECE), and Dr. Sharon Hundley (Lead faculty for ECE). We invite you to explore our BS in Early Childhood Education in more detail — thank you for visiting Campbellsville University’s Louisville Education Center.
