Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries
Campbellsville University’s Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries (BSPM) focuses on the pastoral skills of evangelism, healthy church growth, leadership, counseling, and preaching. It is designed for students who seek ministry positions within local churches or not-for-profit organizations.
Held at the CU Louisville Education Center, the BS in Pastoral Ministries seeks to create world changers for Christ — continuing learners who will grow as servant leaders, spiritual entrepreneurs, and passionate evangelicals. The curriculum is built on a commitment to the kingdom of God, to Christian higher learning, and to the Holy Spirit of promise. Many of our graduates find careers in educational institutions and other community organizations founded in Christian faith, such as Wayside Christian Mission and Home of the Innocents. In addition, a large percentage of graduates continue their master’s studies in counseling or academic theology.
Admission requirements for the BSPM include a completed application and an official transcript from any attended college or university. If transferring to Campbellsville with less than 24 semester hours of credit from another postsecondary school, contact the Office of Admissions to send your official high school transcript. Typically, the program spans between 18 and 30 months, assuming that a student is beginning with an associate’s degree or the equivalent credits. With no transfer hours, the entire curriculum lasts about four years.
Campbellsville’s BSPM degree takes 120 semester hours to complete, with 18 hours in Core Requirements and 15 in Pastoral Ministries Requirements. In addition, the program requires students to select elective courses in Pastoral Ministries, Biblical Studies, Educational Ministries, and Philosophical and Theological Studies. Pastoral Ministries Requirements include Pastoral Care & Counseling, Ministry of Christian Leadership, and Christian Evangelism.
Students may select either B.S. or B.A. (12 hrs of Biblical languages) program options.
No matter which pathway you choose to reach your educational goals, Campbellsville University is an excellent option for faith-based studies.
