CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY CONCERT BAND TO PERFORM ‘AMERICAN LANDSCAPES—A MUSICAL JOURNEY’

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Concert Band will present its final program of the 2009 season Tuesday, April 28 titled “American Landscapes – A Musical Journey” at 8 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
The program, according to Jennifer Tinnell, director of bands/instructor in music, who conducts the band, will feature music accompanied by a multi-media presentation which leads the audience on a journey through some beautiful American landscape.
She said there will be a wide variety of musical styles presented and including a “breath-taking” arrangement of “Shenandoah” by Frank Ticheli, “St. Louis Blues” by W.C. Handy, the “stately and patriotic” “National Emblem March” by E.E. Bagley and the “rich and dramatic” “From Every Horizon” by Norman Dello Joio.
“There will be a few more that you do not want to miss,” she said.
“We promise an evening filled with great music and picturesque landscapes,” Tinnell said.
“Gather your family and friends, enjoy a good dinner together and then join us at 8 p.m. at Ransdell Chapel for this wonderful program,” she said.
The event is free and open to the public.
