CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University String Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Dr. J .Robert Gaddis, dean of the School of Music, will present its annual Fall Concert Monday, Dec. 4 at The Gheens Recital Hall.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature music of varied styles and musical periods. It is at 8 p.m.
The program repertoire includes: “Fantasy on a Hymn Tune of Justin Morgan” by Thomas Canning; “Serenade for Strings” by Edward Elgar; “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” by Wolfgang Mozart; “Nocturne for String Orchestra” (from Quartet #2) by Alexander Borodin; “Cycle Journey” by Diogo Pimentel, a Campbellsville University student; and “All Creatures” by Jezimar Norberto, adjunct music faculty at Campbellsville University.
Members of the ensemble include: Violin I – Sung Joo Lee of Republic of South Korea; Aline Araujo of Brazil; Sung Man Lee of the Republic of South Korea; Diogo Pimentel of Brazil; and Ju eun Kim of South Korea;
Violin II – Wan Soo Cho of the Republic of South Korea, Fabricio Soares of Brazil, Li-Hao Chiang of Taiwan, Ben Probus of Lebanon, Ky.; and Juliana Moura of Brazil;
Viola – Nilzeth Santos of Brazil, Denis Santos of Brazil; Sarah Rangel of Brazil and Roger Davis of Campbellsville;
Cello – Nilson Santos of Brazil, Felix Borges of Brazil, RebeccaKiekenapp of Lexington, Ky., and Saulo Almeida of Brazil; and
Bass – Jonathan Chaudoin of Louisville, Ky., and Jezimar Norberto of Brazil.
The Campbellsville University String Chamber Ensemble was recently invited to perform for the Kentucky Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in February 2007 at the Commonwealth International Convention Center in Louisville.
