CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.—Kerri Fathergill, of Campbellsville, has been named an admissions counselor at Campbellsville University, according to Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.

Fathergill will be serving and recruiting from the Eastern Kentucky Region which includes counties, Trimble, Carroll, Henry, Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Scott, Harrison, Robertson, Bracken, Mason, Fleming, Lewis, Greenup, Bourbon, Nicholas, Boyd, Garrard, Madison, Montgomery, Bath, Rowan, Carter, Lincoln, Rockcastle, Pulaski, McCreary, Whitley, Laurel, Knox, Bell, Clay, Leslie, Harlan, Letcher, Perry, Breathitt, Magoffin, Powell, Wolfe, Morgan, Johnson, Martin, Lawrence, Elliott, Gallatin and Menifee.

Originally from Nicholasville, Ky., Fathergill is a 2003 graduate of West Jessamine High School. She is also a 2007 graduate of Campbellsville University. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.

“I loved being a student at CU,” said Fathergill. “The friendships that I have gained over my years as a student here, I know I will cherish for the rest of my life. There is something about the people and the community on this campus that just makes the atmosphere so friendly and such a great place to be in.”

Fathergill says she came upon her current position after she had moved to Northern Ireland upon graduating in December 2007. “While I was over there in Ireland, I would pray about what I would do when I came back home and where I would be,” Fathergill said.

After coming back to Campbellsville to visit friends and “preparing to walk for graduation in May,” she heard of the position opening. “Since I used to be a Student Ambassador, I knew that it would be a job that I would like, so I went for it,” Fathergill said. “This job is definitely an answer to my prayers.”

Fathergill said she loves the people she works with and loves getting to know students. Fathergill also called her position an “amazing opportunity.”

“With this job,” she said, “I want to be able to help students figure out where God is calling them and what he wants them to do.”

Fathergill plans to begin working towards a master’s degree in business administration in September.

As a student, Fathergill played on the Lady Tiger Soccer Team where she received the following: three Academic All-Conference Awards, one Honorable Mention All-Conference, one Second Team All-Conference and one First Team All-Conference Award.
