CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s chapel series has been released for fall 2008, according to Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries and chair of the chapel committee.
Chapel is held each Wednesday at 10 a.m., and the public is invited to attend. The sessions are in the new Ransdell Chapel.
Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through of a variety of informative speakers and presentations. “We invite the public to come and enjoy and learn from the many different programs that are offered,” Pavy said.
Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, will lead the first chapel at 10 a.m. Aug. 27. He will discuss plans for the new academic year.
Dr. Roger S. “Sing” Oldham, vice president for convention relations, executive committee of the Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville, Tenn., will give the address Sept. 3.
On Sept. 10, Dr. Joel Carwile, pastor of Valley View Baptist Church in Louisville, will address chapel.
The Rev. Rick Gage, GO TELL Crusades Inc. of Atlanta, Ga., will lead chapel Sept. 17.
Dr. John Burch, CU’s director of library services and assistant professor, will coordinate Campbellsville University’s annual Heritage Day Sept. 24.
Dr. Charles J. King Jr., president and chief executive officer of Project One Incorporation of Louisville, will speak Oct. 1.
“Fighting for the Right to Live—Partial Birth Abortion” will be discussed by Lori Vance of Rogersville, Tenn., on Oct. 8.
There will be no chapel Oct. 15 due to mid-term examinations. On Oct. 22, John-Mark Hack, executive director of Say No to Casinos, will speak. He is from Lexington.
The Rev. Matt Smyzer, pastor of Beargrass Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, will be the chapel speaker on Oct. 29.
The Campbellsville University Jazz Band, under the direction of Jen Tinnell, will perform Nov. 5.
Dr. Eric Bruns, CU associate professor of psychology, will address “Internet and Gaming Addictions” Nov. 12.
Tyra Lokey-Robinson, sign-art evangelist, Hope Community Church in Frankfort, will speak Nov. 19.
A Thanksgiving Service, coordinated by the Robertson Worship Committee, will be Nov. 24 on Monday due to classes being dismissed Wednesday, Nov. 26, at noon for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Christmas activities, which will be determined, will end the year’s activities.
