CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. – Campbellsville University will hold her December commencement for 137 graduates Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at Ransdell Chapel with Dr. Bill Henard, pastor of Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, as the guest speaker.
Both graduate and undergraduate students will be honored at this ceremony.
The graduates receiving degrees are as follows: 46 bachelor of science; 35 master of arts in special education; 17 bachelor of science in business administration; nine master of business administration; eight bachelor of arts; eight bachelor of social work; three bachelor of music; three master of arts in music; two master of theology; two master of science in counseling; two master of music in piano pedagogy; one master of music in church music; and one associate of science.
Henard received his Ph.D. in 2006 from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His doctorate of ministry is from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1985; his master of divinity in 1981 from Southwestern as well. He received his bachelor of arts from the University of the Cumberlands in 1977.
Henard has been pastor of Porter Memorial Baptist Church since 1999. He was senior pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., from 1990 to 1999; pastor of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., from 1986 to 1990; pastor of First Baptist Church in Decatur, Tenn., from 1981 to 1986; and pastor of Corinth Baptist Church in Decatur, Texas, from 1979 to 1981.
He has served as an instructor, guest lecturer and assistant professor of evangelism at several universities including The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the University of the Cumberlands and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He belongs to several organizations including the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education, American Society for Church Growth, Evangelical Homiletics Society and Evangelical Theological Society.
He has served on various committees of both the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Henard has completed several international mission trips to Russia, Ukraine, Australia, Jordan, Cuba, Poland, Peru and Iraq. He has done home mission trips to Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Georgia, Tennessee and New Mexico.
He has given several presentations and has authored several publications.
He is married to Judy Patterson Henard and has three children: Virginia Anne Henard Awtrey, William David Henard IV and Robert Andrew Henard; and two grandchildren: Ashlyn Virginia and Alexander Steven Awtrey.
