Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
Campbellsville University’s Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (ECE) provides graduates with a clear path to teaching in the elementary school system or a childcare center. Held at the Larry and Beverly Noe Somerset Education Center, our advanced curriculum equips students with practical skills needed for a teaching career, and the program is similarly designed to reflect a professional teaching environment.
Our school imagines a global society where all individuals are empowered to achieve their goals and teachers can transform others with Christian leadership, no matter the student’s mental ability. To achieve this vision, we must prepare our instructors with an academic framework built on scholarship, service, and Christian fellowship. We are looking for curious and caring scholars who are determined to improve the education system in today’s connected world. Campbellsville’s School of Education is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (now called the Council for the Accreditation Educator Preparation, or CAEP).
For our accelerated early childhood education degree, Campbellsville assumes that an incoming student has little to no prior college experience, so admission requirements are flexible. Graduates of the ECE program will have the necessary experience to become a director of a preschool or childcare facility, as well as a route to the K-6 system. For more information about the admissions process, contact Admissions Counselor Gina Sears at 606-451-8474 or email@example.com.
At the Somerset Education Center, continuing students can reach their educational goals in as little as 18 months. Our satellite campus holds an accelerated program with rigorous classes that meet one night a week, Monday to Thursday. In addition to the early childhood education degree, the Somerset Education Center offers a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE), where students can prepare to enter a career in early care, hospitals, campus child development centers, recreation centers, and many other fields.
No matter which pathway you choose to reach your academic goals, Campbellsville University is a distinguished option for early childhood education. We are also regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Our Education Center is facilitated by an exceptional group of full-time and adjunct faculty, including Dr. Marilyn Goodwin and Ellen Hamilton-Ford.
