Administrative Assistant-Full Time: Kentucky Humanities: Lexington KY

Kentucky Humanities is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our team in July, 2017.

Position Available: Administrative Assistant

Kentucky Humanities, a private nonprofit organization affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities and dedicated to Telling Kentucky’s Story is seeking an Administrative Assistant with a general interest in Kentucky history and culture, and a detail oriented person who likes to deal with the public.

Responsibilities include: Coordinating day-to-day operations of Speakers Bureau and Kentucky Chautauqua by answering questions, maintaining records associated with bookings, troubleshooting issues with sponsors and presenters; by authorizing payments; and by preparing reports on specific program activities for the board and committees.

Administrative Assistant will maintain integrity of public relations by receiving and organizing calls, correspondence, and other communications with Kentucky Humanities, and processing information according to staff responsibilities and priorities; managing mass mailings and special deliveries; facilitating Board and committee meetings by making necessary arrangements and handling associated clerical needs; maintaining office services and maintenance needs; managing supply orders.

The successful applicant will be highly organized, energetic and a collaborative office worker. It is important that this person is computer literate, pays attention to detail, and is precise in working with database software. This person will serve as the first point of contact for people contacting the Kentucky Humanities on the phone, by email, and in person. Additional requirements: occasional travel.

Pay Rate: $12.00 – $14.00 per hour depending on experience plus excellent benefits including health insurance, retirement contributions, paid vacation, holidays. 40 hour work week Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
